2010 High School Award Winners
Scholar-Athlete of the Year
Ricky Zorn (Lake Highlands): Took home the night's top honor, a $2,500 scholarship as the top scholar-athlete of the night. A two-time captain and district MVP, Zorn is ranked second in his class and is a member of the National Honor Society. He will attend Harvard in the fall.

Distinguished Texan Award
Jerry Jones: Jones was the co-captain of the 1964 National Championship team at Arkansas. Following college, he entered the oil and gas exploration business, building a highly successful company. In 1989, he fulfilled a dream with the purchase of the Dallas Cowboys, and his knack for success quickly resulted in Super Bowl victories in 1992, 1993 and 1995. His string of NFL championships made him the first owner in NFL history to guide his team to three Super Bowl victories in the first seven years of ownership. One of the NFL's most influential owners, he has had an enormous impact on almost every aspect of the league's direction during the past two decades. In 2009 he opened a new $1.2 billion stadium, which has already hosted Super Bowl XLV, Big 12 football championships, AT&T Cotton Bowl Classics, the NBA All-Star Game and multiple regular season football games at both the high school and college levels.
Legends Award
John Clark: The former head coach and athletics director at Plano ISD, became the second recipient of the club's Legends Award for his local contributions to the game.
Steve Storie Official of the Year
Ed Ramirez: A 36-year veteran in the Dallas Football Officials Association, Ramirez began his officiating career in 1968 and has been a member of the Dallas Football Officials Association since 1974.
Athletics Director of the Year
Joe Barnett (Irving ISD): Barnett has been a teacher, coach and athletics director for 38 years.
Large High School Coach of the Year
Steve Lineweaver (Euless Trinity): Four-time state champion during his 42-year coaching career.
Large High School Assistant Coach of the Year
Chris Jensen (Euless Trinity)
Small High School Coach of the Year
Blake Feldt (Pilot Point): Led the Bearcats to the 2-A state title last season.

2010 Collegiate Scholar-Athletes
Lance Calloway (Midwestern State): A four-year lettermen with 44 starts as an anchor on Mustang offensive lines that averaged more than 400 yards per game, Calloway was named First Team All-Lone Star Conference and First Team All- Region in 2009, and he earned Honorable Mention All- America accolades from Don Hansen's Football Gazette. A management major with a 3.22 GPA, made the Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll and the Midwestern State Dean's List. His community service includes mentoring kids at the Boys and Girls Club of Wichita Falls and volunteering at the Wichita Falls Art Museum.
Quincy Daniels (Mary Hardin-Baylor): Daniels, a two-year captain and the team's star running back, holds a 3.478 GPA and is a member of the Dean's Honor Roll. With a year of athletic eligibility remaining, the First Team American Southwest All-Conference selection ranks fourth on UMHB all- time list with 2,769 career rushing yards, and his 36 rushing touchdowns place him just five away from school and conference records. An active member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Daniels' many community service activities include the Helping Hands Ministry, Food for Haiti and the Sole 2 Soul project distributing shoes to Haitian orphans.
Scott Grantham (Tarleton State): Grantham quarterbacked the Texans to a 10-3 season and a share of the 2009 Lone Star Conference Championship and a 27-7 record during his entire career. He graduated as a junior with a 3.33 GPA as a business administration major and is currently working toward his MBA. In 2009, he passed for 2,985 yards and threw 19 touchdowns. His career total of 57 touchdowns ranks him first among quarterbacks in Tarleton State history. Grantham is second in passing yardage with 7,860 yards in three seasons with the Texans and is second in completions (550) and third in attempts (997). His many community service projects include the Ronald McDonald House and Meals on Wheels.
Clint Gresham (TCU): The only long snapper invited to the 2010 NFL Combine, Gresham was a three-year starter for the Horned Frogs and one of the unsung keys to TCU's success. His play and contributions were singled out by head coach Gary Patterson on multiple occasions, and he played in the Texas vs. The Nation Challenge college all-star game. A native of Corpus Christi, Texas, Gresham is majoring in entrepreneurial management with a minor in communications.
Ross Hasten (Austin College): A three-time All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) selection and a three-time SCAC All-Academic Team honoree, Hasten led the 'Roos in rushing the past three seasons and has ranked among the top three rushers in the conference the past two seasons. He played in the national NCAA Division III All-Star Game. A history major with a 3.36 GPA, Hasten plans to enter the teaching and coaching profession.
Kylie Hill (UNT): Hill amassed 46 solo and 77 total tackles in 2008 at safety for the Mean Green. In 2009, he moved to linebacker, racking up 43 tackles (31 solo) before a season-ending injury in the ninth game of the year. A leader in the community, he played an active role as a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Council that oversees policies and procedures for North Texas student-athletes; volunteered with Rookie Roundup and National Student Athlete Day on campus; and mentored students at a local Denton elementary school.
Chase Kennemer (SMU): Overcoming a serious lower-back injury in high school, Kennemer pursued his passion for football in college, becoming the Mustangs' captain in 2009 and amassing a team-best 135 stops with 12 tackles for-loss. A First Team All-Conference USA selection, he also added a sack, two interceptions, three pass break-ups and four fumble recoveries to his 2009 totals. A double major in psychology and finance, Kennemer maintains a 3.5 GPA.
Joe Pawelek (Baylor): Pawelek, an NFF National Scholar-Athlete and Campbell Trophy finalist, completed his collegiate career as two- time All-America and two-time Academic All-America. A four-year starter, he set a school record with 46 career starts (48 career games played), and his 422 career tackles place him 18th in NCAA history and second all- time at Baylor behind College and Pro football hall of famer Mike Singletary (662). Pawelek graduated in December 2009 with a degree in finance and economics and a 3.71 GPA. His many community service activities include the Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity and Food for Families.
Kyle Pope (ETBU): Pope, who has maintained a 3.91 GPA, is a three- time member of the American Southwest Conference All- Academic team and four-time member of his school's President's List. He set a school record with 12 field goals and was 21-of-22 on extra points in 2007. He is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Juan Velasco (Texas A&M-Commerce): The kickoff and punt specialist for the Lone Star Conference North Division Champions, Velasco is majoring in sports recreation management with a minor in business. He averaged 39 yards per punt last season on 74 attempts, tallying a total of 2,890 yards. As a junior, he was named First Team All-Lone Star Conference North Division and Don Hansen's Football Gazette Third Team All-Region.
