Gridiron Club of Dallas Partners with Ford’s Garage Plano to Host Fundraising Event

Event donations to benefit aspiring scholar-athletes in the Dallas-Fort Worth community

DALLAS, Texas (Feb. 7, 2023) – The National Football Foundation (NFF) Gridiron Club of Dallas Chapter announced today that they are partnering with Ford’s Garage in Plano, Texas, to host a college scholarship fundraising event at their restaurant on the evening of Feb. 21, 2023.

The community is invited to celebrate and support high school scholar-athletes by making a donation to NFF Gridiron Club of Dallas and enjoying a delicious meal in Ford’s Garage’s unique, vintage 1920s atmosphere. The event details are as follows:

“The Gridiron Club of Dallas is excited to partner with Ford’s Garage in Plano to help raise money for college scholarships through a unique fundraising event,” said NFF Gridiron Club of Dallas Chapter president Gerald Brence, a member of the Texas High School Coaches Association Hall of Honor and current assistant football coach at McKinney Christian Academy. “We need members of the DFW community to come out and support the event, have an amazing dinner and give to our college scholarship fund.”

Ford’s Garage in Plano is more than 9,800 square-feet and is part of a nationwide group of restaurants officially licensed by the Ford Motor Company to use Ford branding and memorabilia. Each Ford’s Garage restaurant evokes the look and feel of a 1920s service station. The restaurants display vintage fixtures and Ford vehicles like the Model “T” and Model “A.” Design details include blue shop towels used as napkins and bathroom sinks made from tires and fuel pump nozzles; the crew of servers are dressed like auto mechanics.

“We are excited to partner with the Gridiron Club of Dallas to help raise college scholarship funds for the high school scholar athletes they recognize each year,” said Ford’s Garage market partner for Texas and 25-year restaurant industry veteran, Jason Borders. “It also provides an opportunity for our team to continue to connect with the community in DFW as they learn about Ford’s Garage, our iconic Ford theme and amazing food!”
